I am trying to connect a Netgear FSM726 to a Cat 6513 switch and it keeps coming up with err-disable.
This is what we have configured on the interfaces.
interface FastEthernet7/27
no ip address
duplex full
speed 100
switchport
switchport access vlan ??
storm-control broadcast level 0.50
rmon collection stats 175
I have changed the port speed/duplex from auto to 100 but it still will not work. I console into the Netgear and also changed the speed/duplex but still does not work.
How can I get this connected?
Is it the "spanning-tree bpduguard enable" stopping it from working? How can I get around this and connect up this Netgear?
Thanks

Hi Qwerty21,
Through personal experience, most foreign devices (non cisco) you need to enable the BPDU guard to stop the port err-disabling. Also check the manufacturer guidelines, you might need to configure a trunk but it depends on what device FSM726 - sorry never googled it :o)
