Hi!

According to cisco best practices, the root bride should be placed in the centre of the network to provide a central point of communication between the switches in the network, it is also is recommended the root bridge to be the switch with the highest performance since it will be generating and processing quite some messages of STP control packets , in this case the switch in the middle would be the best choice.

Hope it helps, best regards!

Thank you so much ,,

now i'm using the second one is the root and i got message , i have mac address flapping between ports with connected directly with P2P wireless link ,,

i have also the same message in the first switch which connected with Router directly and the flapping between port of router and port of root bridge ,,

and flapping happing in the VLan or p2p management

If you have flapping going on, then you must have an alternate path that can be taken in the network that isn't running spanning-tree correctly but has multiple paths.

What IS at the other end of the PTP link?  Is that a pair of links connecting to another downstream network segment?  If so, is it correctly configured with spanning tree (or possibly a hub or something else that allows a loop to occur)?

sorry for late , as long i still have the same problem in extended pants ,, end of p2p is tower using sectors for clients ,,

the core switch work on pvst but the sg300 per tower working with stp , does that ok ?
