Solved: Default routing

Hi All,

I have provided default routing at interfaces f0/0 and f0/1 of R1 with AD values as 1 and 2 (making f0/0 as primary route). Kindly advise if route for f0/1 will be installed as default route if interface f0/0 is down.

Also confirm where I can get additional information regarding the same.

Hi

The default route will not be included into the routing table if the next hop is not reachable. So if fa0/0 is down you will have only the default route pointing to fa0/1 into the routing table.
