Hey all

Hope everyone is fine

I came across a doubt where why we should give c9200 instead of C1000 even if we are going to connect the end devices with C9200. What are the major difference between C9200 and C1000 series switches ?

Catalyst 1000 is purely a layer 2 switch.  IT is the direct replacement of a 2960-series family of switches.  Catalyst 1000 runs on  a proven & stable classic IOS (same IOS as the 2960S/X/XR, IE4000, Micro Switch).

Catalyst 9200 is a slightly more advanced than a Catalyst 1000.  Automation, SD-Access (limited), DNAC, etc. requires Catalyst 9200.  All Catalyst 9k switch runs on IOS-XE.

If the customer's network is simply a Layer 2 network and with limited budget, Catalyst 1000 is the answer.  If the customer has money to burn, then Catalyst 9200 or 9300 might be the answer.
