disabling sniffer

hi all,

how can i disable sniffer from the switch ? is there any option inside the switch that would disable/drop .... these sniffing app ? so that they can not read everything on the network ?

There is a simple solution. Configure the switch port as an access port in some VLAN. If a device is connected to that port and running sniffer software they will see only unicast traffic for that port and the broadcast and multicast traffic for that VLAN (and the only way to prevent that would be to shut down the port). They certainly will not see everything on the network.
