Hello Cisco Team,
We have the following request from our production IT Team:
WE have certain production devices that are plug into our CISCO Switches such as PLC or Video Cameras. The question is it possible to assign these devices a dymamic IP based on the Port they plug into, the idear is that if a devices dies a production worker can switch out the devices. FOr the production it is curical that they obtain the same IP Address, therefore the question is it possible to setup dynamic/manual DHCP based on the MAC Address of the CISCO Port versus the MAC Address of the device?
Thanks
Christian

Not possible, as far as I'm aware.

If the devices are in the same vlan, DHCP will do his job. If not check VLAN Management Policy Server (VMPS)

Hi,
This is possible but I don't know if it is implemented on all switch models.
you should take a look in Cisco feature navigator for this.I've just verified and it is available on 2960S-2960X-2960C and on 3560/3750.

Yes,
You need to have a LANBASE IOS software image. It is not supported on LANLITE IOS software image.
