Hi all
Its the first time i am installing power stack leads to the given stack of 3750X. They are only 2 switches in the stack so i am using 2 power stack cables. I installed the first power stack lead using Green side on top (sw1) to yellow end to second port on the Sw2. And then the second cable, yellow side to the second port on sw1 and green side on first port on sw2.
but for some reason i am seeig this error message:

000041: *Mar  1 08:03:20.892 WST: %PLATFORM_STACKPOWER-4-UNBALANCED_PS: Switch 1's power stack has unbalanced power supplies

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi Mohit,

This error message UNBALANCED_PS  indicates that there is a switch in the power stack (indicated by number in the message) with no supplies while at the same time there is a switch in the power stack with TWO supplies.

If this message only appeared once, you can safely ignore this (this can be seen while you are configuring priorities at the switches).

If it is occuring multiple times, i would like to see following outputs:

1. Show Version

2. Show stack-power

3. Show env all

Hi Pulkit and Sweta

First of all thanks for your time looking into this.

The following is the answer to your questions:

I did see the error message very often, like after evry 5min or so. i couldnt check it after that day as it is miles away where we got it installed. At the moment we dont have any users, so we still dont know how is everything. I am trying to telnet the box and use "terminal monitor" to watch out for those messages again, just in case if they are flashing still.

To answer few of your questions in the meantime:

1. The ios version:

(C3750E-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 12.2(55)SE3, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

2. Output of "sh stack-power"

Power stack name: Powerstack-2
    Stack mode: Power sharing strict
    Stack topology: Ring
    Switch 1:
        Power budget: 1393
        Low port priority value: 22
        High port priority value: 13
        Switch priority value: 4
        Port 1 status: Connected
        Port 2 status: Connected
        Neighbor on port 1: 0007.7de8.a480
        Neighbor on port 2: 0007.7de8.a480

    Switch 2:
        Power budget: 1423
        Low port priority value: 21
        High port priority value: 12
        Switch priority value: 3
        Port 1 status: Connected
        Port 2 status: Connected
        Neighbor on port 1: 0007.7df2.d700
        Neighbor on port 2: 0007.7df2.d700

3. The switch did not like the command "sh env all". I am assuming it is "show environment all", but there was nothing close to it that i could use.

I shall keep you posted should I see any error message again.

Thanks in advance!

Cheers!

At the moment I am not sure I saw that error again, however, I'll keep that work around in mind.

Thanks Sweta.
