I am attempting to upgrade the IOS on recently purchased 3750 switch and this is my first time attempting such a procedure.  Currently studying for ICND1 exam.

I uploaded the new IOS and did not have to delete the previous IOS. I wanted to preserve the old IOS for a situation like I am currently find myself.

switch: boot
Loading "flash:c3750-ipbasek8-mz.122-55.SE11.bin"...flash:c3750-ipbasek8-mz.122-55.SE11.bin: no such file or directory

Error loading "flash:c3750-ipbasek8-mz.122-55.SE11.bin"

Interrupt within 5 seconds to abort boot process.
Loading "flash:/c3750-ipbasek9-mz.122-55.SE11.bin"...@@@@

I would like to modify the startup-config to point to the old IOS as I believe I should have that option with it still present on this switch.

Please let me know the commands for this procedure.

/Paul

Error loading "flash:c3750-ipbasek8-mz.122-55.SE11.bin"

This error message means the IOS is corrupt.

Before rebooting the switch, make sure the MD5 checksum is compared against the MD5 checksum found in the Cisco website.

Hi Leo,

I appreciate your very quick response, but I am still in a pickle with this corrupt IOS and need to get back to the previous version.

Please let me know how to load the old IOS.

Thanks, Paul

Performed the following to remove corrupted IOS.

switch: delete flash:c3750-ipbasek9-mz.122-55.SE11.bin

Are you sure you want to delete "flash:c3750-ipbasek9-mz.122-55.SE11.bin" (y/n)?y

File "flash:c3750-ipbasek9-mz.122-55.SE11.bin" deleted

I'm not sure whether you used copy-paste in your original post, but there's no such thing as "ipbasek8" (only k9) - maybe you mistyped the image name in the boot variable config (although I guess you would have used copy-paste there as well)...  at the end of your original post it looks like the switch manages to find the right updated image and starts booting it.

Hi Lulian,

Good observation of the "k8" used in the file name, but that was just a typo in the description.  Wish it was the case for the Boot command.

I will complete another download of the file with the hope the previous was corrupted in some way.

Thanks, Paul
