Hi Govind,

Which image version you are running on the switch?

There is a bug for these kind of error messages and the bug id is "CSCee89453"

Which is described as below

When full duplex is provisioned on the Gig SFP 10/100/1000BaseTX port, evertime

the link goes down or comes up via disconnect or shut/no shut on other side of

port (the switch it is connected to), the following error message is diplayed

and sent to the log: "cpd_reset_port_config: xcvr_reset_port_config error". The

new speed and duplex enhancements may draw more attention to these types of

bugs.

This is Integrated in: 12.1(22)EA2

So try upgrading your switch and see if that resolves the issue.

I m not able to access the bug details which you have mentioned.

switch is giving this error intermittently. no shut/no shut is being performed in other end.

I will upgrade the ios and update you for the same

govind

Hi Govind,

today i ran into the same problem - and after the suggested IOS update the message is gone.

But the device still dis/- and reconnects constantly. I'll replace the NIC of the device tomorrow and check it again.

Did you had a look at the interface counters - especially the errors? ( 'mine' has a lots of errors)

Cheers

Michael
