Firmware for a two-unit 9200L stack?

SIMMN

I have two new C9200L-48T-4G switches (Essential) that I will stack them to replace the old 2960X...But when I tried to download the firmware, e.g. v17.3.3, I got confused...There is firmware for the model C9200L-48T-4G specifically and there is also one for the "Catalyst 9200L Switch Stack"...

From what I can tell, both IOS-XE firmwares have the same name and MD5 hash...So they would be the same file, right? If so, why bother to provide the "Catalyst 9200L Switch Stack" entry on the download page under Catalyst 9200 Series then?

Hi there,

It is just a place holder on the downloads site. Refer to the product page download section and note that there is no 'Catalyst 9200L Switch Stack' entry:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/switches/catalyst-9200-r-series-switches/series.html#~tab-downloads

The IOS file for the 9200L-48T-4G can be found HERE.

IMPORTANT:  Do not forget the Release Notes.

Thanks, I do have that file already. But I want to understand why the firmware download page for the C9200 series has dedicated "Catalyst 9200L Switch Stack" entry?

Okey...it is certainly a confusing placeholder...

As you had done already, just check the file hashes to determine if it is a unique image.
