Hi there, i have recently inherited a client who is running an 877 router. They are experiencing connecitvitly problems where the connection is dropping intermittently (especially during peak UK ADSL usage times). Its a BT connection not sure what the DSLAM is.
anybody else seen this?
going to try setting the dsl operating mode to ansi-dmt or itu-dmt but also after some extensive googling 1 found that some people with similar issues have solved them with a firmware update. Please could someone point me to some docs/downloads for this procedure (as i have none) or is this a job for the reseller?
thanks for your help.

How about using software advisor ?
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/support/tsd_most_requested_tools.html
And Bug toolkit.
If i does not help, ask the provider for a quality check of you line.

Kind regards

Patrick,
I guess you already have a CCO login i.e "p4trickhe4th", you just don;t have the privileges to open cisco documents
For that if you have a Cisco Contract, then you can call Cisco at "1800-553-2447" and get your userId linked to that contract and according to the privileges given in that contract, your usename will also inherit those
If there is no contract with you... then ask your reseller, they would be able to provide you with latest IOS
You can try the following links or send it to the reseller:
1 To download IOS software for 877 routers
2. IOS upgrade procedure for 800 Series router-
Hope it helps

Hi All!
I'm also having some grief with an 877 (in the UK)... the most progress I've made so far is to go to this URL (no user account needed!):
ftp://ftp.cisco.com/pub/access/800
Download the 3.0.10 ADSL firmware. Copy it to flash, and rename to this name exactly:
adsl_alc_20190.bin
This got mine trained up! Prior to this it appeared to be dead...
Now if it would just pass a few packets I'd be laughing.
Regards
Aaron
