Hi Guys,
I'm Khris, and im new in cisco routers, i never been using cisco routers before and now i have to work for it because i needed to.
i have cisco c887va-w-e-k9 router and its already reset to its default config. as in no configuration at all, im new in cisco thats why i read a couple of websites about cisco until i know some basic commands from youtube, and i dont know what is the certificate that i will see in the running config is important because it say that it was expired. what i want to be done is below
1. internet access
2. dhcp
3. wireless connection
i tried to configure the internet and dhcp, but i got a problem in dhcp, it does not release any ip on the network, to try the internet is working i put static ip address on lan and its working fine, my problem is the dhcp that is not providing any ip in the network. i reset again the router to make it clear.. is there anyone who can help me, i know my problem is not that difficult because what i really need to be done in my router is just a basic configuration. but like what i said, its my firs-time configuring a cisco router thats why im having a hard time on it...if there's anyone who have their spare time to help me is to much appreciated..sorry for my english...english is our second language. im looking forward for someone to help me with my problem..thanks cisco.

Wow that is weird, well if you dont know the credentials you need to do a password recovery procedure, please let me provide you the steps, note you need to follow all the steps and dont skip none.

hi Sir Julio,
i already solve the issue regarding with username and password, the cause of the problem is the internet account given by my isp, it was use by the router as login. but i already recover and set a new username and password. but when i test my internet config it doesn't working so i try to reset again haha :D because my config before is working maybe there is something wrong in our previous config...now i config again and i used only the default vlan1 as interface. now the dhcp is working fine it releasing ip and the calendar time issue is fix, i dont remember what make it fix the command i used are "clock update-calendar", "ntp update-calendar" or this one "calendar set" i dont remember what is working there i just try all of them. then when i reload its still updated, its work like a charm haha...but i didnt try the internet config because our internet was used by now.. maybe by tom morning i send you an update if the internet is working so we can proceed in wifi config... thank you very much buddy.

the hardware calendar still the issue and setting up the clock manually not fix the issue, i already setup the internet connection but not yet tested but i think its working because i already configure it the last time and its working.. maybe we can proceed for the configuration of wireless connection? what do you think sir???

Hi Sir Julio,
Good Day! i already testing the internet config and its working but there's a little problem in dns server, it says in my internet network connected and have internet access but when browsing its not loading anything, i change the dns server into google ip 8.8.8.8 and it loads the google pages., can you provide me dns server that i can used other than google public ip?? and im going to start reading on how to config the wireless, do you have the step procedure which part im going to config first??or basically where im going to start the config for the wireless? thanks sir julio.

Hi Bryan,
You could use the Google DNS like you mentioned: 8.8.8.8, 4.2.2.2 and I think there is 4.4.4.4, I have used them for testing and they work fine.
Also the ISP could provide its public DNS.

Hi Sir Julio,
Good Day! Sir can you help me again just one last thing, just forget about the config on the ap... because i already deploy the router without the ap config...i have a problem with one of our printer(CANON IR2525) it has the DHCP, RARP and BOOTP, i search about the differences of this 3 settings, and it says i need to static config of the host ip on layer 3 switch for RARP. i have excluded ip from 192.168.1.1 to 10 and i want to get the ip of 192.168.1.6 for the printer. How can i tell to the router that this ip must be on that printer???
Looking forward for your response Sir, Many thanks!
best regards,
Bryan
