Flash copy to 4300 Router

I can't copy license to router.

The instructions that came with the licenses gave instructions to load up the new licenses, which I am following.

I am using Solarwinds TFTP server.

Laptop and router are both plugged into switch.

I have router IP as 10.1.1.250 and my laptop IP as 10.1.1.249

The can ping each other.

Firewall is off.

TFTP server was even added to the allowed apps

Laptop and router are both plugged into switch.

This is the output of my commands...

TX-HOU-V4K#copy tftp: flash:

Address or name of remote host [10.1.1.249]?

Source filename [irs4300.lic]?

Destination filename [irs4300.lic]? flash:

%Warning:There is a file already existing with this name

Do you want to over write? [confirm]

Accessing tftp://10.1.1.249/irs4300.lic...

%Error opening tftp://10.1.1.249/irs4300.lic (Timed out)

Anyone have any suggestions/ideas on what could be the problem?

In addition to Leo's suggestion, the 4000 comes with a USB port.  So you can put the file on a flash drive and insert it into the USB port. Copy from usb0 to flash and than install the license.

ip tftp source interface <Interface of 10.1.1.250>

This is what fixed it for me. "ip tftp source interface gx/x/x"

Thanks for the replies fellow Cisconites. I copied the licenses to the router via USB. relatively simple. So the device is up and running now. I still can't figure out why it didn't copy the usual way though?

Thanks again.

Glad to help.

tftp is painful.  I am glad Cisco finally integrating USB ports in all the new devices, so we don't have to use tftp. Its about time Cisco :)
