Hello All,
We have a security system with static ip. We can ping fine. However, when we try to connect to application it fails.
When testing the tcp port with telnet, connection denied. Every single time when we cannot connect, we get this message in cmd.
if we can connect to application by accident, then when we telnet it works.
While running wireshark, every single time we cannot connect we get spurious re transmission in wireshark.
When we bypass network and connect directly we can connect fine at least every time we tried.
But going through network, it is hit or miss.
We have reduced the port speed to 100Mbps, power inline never, full duplex. But don't know what is possibly the problem.
Vendor says, since bypassing it works so really not sure what they can offer.
It can connect/not connect through network but its just crap shoot.
Its is happening with two panels at two physical location connected to different switches.
we had flat network for years and it worked until the subnetting with consistency. Not sure if it is coincidence or something with change. But both panels behaving same way cannot be coincidence.
Firewall is disabled locally on domain. Even after that, added the port of application for incoming or outgoing.
Thank you for any tips.
With regards,
Lalit

Are you in the same VLAN as the panel that you are trying to connect to?

Hello Philip,
Sorry response from my gmail never went through. They are in different Vlan but since we can ping each other , we should be routable also.
It is on and off deal. Sometimes you can connect, sometimes don't. Physical cable is good , checked.
Checked with Corporate, they said port has no errors.
So kind of puzzled as never ran across something like this.
Thanks,
Lalit
