I have a primarily Cisco network (300+ switches at this time) with a dozen or so HP Procurve devices at the edge. I use VTP to propagate vlans created on my 6509 core router throughout the network to the edge. I have one HP Procurve switch set up with all the same vlan data, and use that as the GVRP master to propagate the vlans throughout the HP Procurve devices.
This works slick, and I never have any issues until now.
I have one scenario, not ideal but unavoidable, where I have a setup like this:
Core Cisco 6509 <-LH Fibre-> Cisco 2950 <-FastEthernet-> Edge HP Procurve 2520-8-PoE
Normally when I put a HP Procurve at the edge, the GVRP data can propagate fine, but it seems to get stripped going through an intermediary Cisco 2950 switch.
Is there any method of telling the 2950 to pass GVRP data?
