Hello,

can you post the Packet Tracer file ? You need to ZIP it first...

hey i upload file

Hello,

let me ask you: are you studying for an exam, or practicing this stuff ? I could tell you what is wrong with your config, but I'd rather give you a hint: keep in mind that in BGP, you can only advertise networks that are in the routing table. Those networks need to be advertised in BGP exactly as they appear in the routing table...

Hey,
This just for practicing
you are saying problem is in R3 and in bgp networks?

(R3 bgp network config)

network 172.16.255.248 mask 255.255.255.252

network 172.16.255.252 mask 255.255.255.252

network 10.0.0.0 mask 255.255.255.252

network 10.2.0.252 mask 255.255.255.252

network 10.3.0.0 mask 255.255.255.0

network 10.3.1.0 mask 255.255.255.0

Hello,

exactly. You are advertising

network 10.2.0.252 mask 255.255.255.252

but the routing table on R3 only has an entry for 10.2.0.0/16/

So if you advertise:

network 10.2.0.0 mask 255.255.0.0

R4 actually installs the route to that network in the routing table and knows how to reach R1 on that network.

By the way, even without that configuration change, R1 can already ping 200.200.200.200 if you use the 10.3.0.1 address as the source. That is because R4 has a route to 10.3.0.0/24 in its routing table.

R1#ping
Protocol [ip]:
Target IP address: 200.200.200.200
Repeat count [5]:
Datagram size [100]:
Timeout in seconds [2]:
Extended commands [n]: y
Source address or interface: 10.3.0.1

Set DF bit in IP header? [no]:
Validate reply data? [no]:
Data pattern [0xABCD]:

Sweep range of sizes [n]:
Type escape sequence to abort.
Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 200.200.200.200, timeout is 2 seconds:
Packet sent with a source address of 10.3.0.1
!.!.!
Success rate is 60 percent (3/5), round-trip min/avg/max = 0/0/1 ms
