Hi all,
I'm here as some what of a last resort, I have a network brief to implement involving OSPF, and VLAN routing, its 4 router-on-a-stick networks connected by a backbone switch. with each router-on-a-stick network consisting of 3 sub-networks each belonging to vlan 1, 2, or 3 so far:
However I have come across an issue where as my workstations cannot reach the backbone interface of their routers, so vlans on separate networks cant ping each other.
I don't want to resort to posting my code, but i wondered if anyone could offer me some advice on what I could possibly have missed?
Thanks very much!

Hi Rob,
What I understand is you want to use ROAS and InterVLAN routing at the same time?
- What are your hosts using as gateway?
- Is your switch able to ping the routers?
Regards!

Hi Carlos
Yes that is correct, my hosts do not have a gateway, I have played around with this idea I'm going to try again today, I'm unsure if an interface can be 'dual use' i.e. an address for Gi0/0 and also use addresses for Gi0/0.X.
This as a possible solution is beyond the scope of learning so far, and my switch can ping the routers sub interface's.
I apologize for being so vague, but I don't want to be given the solution if you understand, I just want to explore possibility's I may have missed :)
Thank you!
Update Edit: It appears that interfaces can use their main interface and sub interface simultaneously! I think after scratching my head for so long I've let my lack of confidence hold me back a little and I'm more capable then I give myself credit for :)
