Hi,
I have two new 6509E's in my network.
I would like to configure them in HA mode to reduce Failover time.
Please let me know the options.
Thanks in Advance

Hi
You don't say whether or not each chassis has redundant supervisors in them.
Attached is a link to configuring NSF/SSO for redundant supervisors.
If you don't have redundant sups then could you let us know what you need.

Hi ,
We do not have redundant Sup in 6509E switch.
I want to configure 6509E to reduce failover and convergence time.

Hi
If you don't have redundant sups then failover and convergence comes down to your layer 3/layer 2 protocols.
Attached is a Cisco doc on recovery times comparing EIGRP/OSPF & layer 2.

Aniruddha,
What is an over all topology. Do you have a three tier architecture (Access-Distribution-core) or 2- tier archi( Collapsed Access/distri-core or access-collapsed disti/core). The over-all design recommendation depends on the final architecture.
If you have a 3-tier archi, then run RPVST+ from access-distribution layer and run EIGRP or OPSF at the core layer. You can run MHSRP at the distribution layer if you have dual chassis design. If you have a single chassis with redundant sup run NSF/SSO between the redundant sup's.
If you have a tier-2 architecture, then run RPVST+ and MSHRP at the core layer and RPVST+ at the access layer.Multiple HSRP will give you the HA between the 2 chassis for multiple vlans.
