How access switch Urgent!

I hv catalyst 2950 switch pulgged into the network unconfigured,

I want to access it through my PC to manage it.How can i manage it

without unplugging from running network , without consol cable or any third party

tools.

Hello,

you cannot access the switch remotely when there is no management IP address on the switch that is reachable through the network. Physically consoling into the switch is your only option.

consoling into the switch

then do this

en

conf t

int vlan 1

ip add ........ (as you need)(for example 10.1.1.1 255.255.255.0)

no sh

exit

line vty 0 4

password cisco

login

exit

enable secret cisco

ctrl+z

copy run start

and then you can login to switch by telnet to ip address of vlan 1.

I am using CSS11501. I also wanted to access via telnet . How do I do it? It is the same way?
