Hello everybody
Can you please tell me how i have to configure the Cisco WRP400 Router so that it works with IPTV? Can only watch a few seconds a movie than the stream is freezing. I installed the Firmware 2.00.26 on the router.
I have activated:
Support IGMP Version: IGMP v3
IGMP Proxy: enabled
Immediate Leave: enabled
The grafic in the attachment show the actual installation. Any advice is really appreciated

Is IPTV working on PC? On lan port 2?

The provider has no application for the PC. The multicast stream can only be used with their IPTV receive devices. This devices are attached to LCD / LED TV's.
So i cant answer your question. I dont know if the multicast stream would work on my PC.
But i got new information from ISP about what happens when i turn on the second IPTV device that is attached on the LAN Port of the WRP400.
When i turn on the IPTV Device the first few seconds the IPTV Stream is send via Unicast, then it switches to Multicast. Thats the reason why i can watch TV on the first few seconds.
When i turn off the IPTV device and wait 10-20 seconds, turn it on again, i can watch again the first few seconds a movie then it freezes again.
Ist it possible that the WRP 400 discards the Multicast packets?

It's hard to say if WRP400 drops multicast packets or not.
Can you ask your ISP if you can use VLC player (www.videolan.org/vlc/) to watch IPTV?
I have no expirience with WRP400, but if you find a way to capture traffic with Wireshark or tcpdump, a can analyze it and say if something is wrong or not. VLC+Wireshark on PC is a good starting point.

Finally i got the installation working. This information applies for users in Switzerland consuming Swisscom IPTV.
VDSL and IPTV are provided from ISP Swisscom
The motorola VDSL-Modem/Router (product name "centro piccolo") is mandatory, cant be replaced.
The configuration that works.
Motorola VDSL Modem/Router:
- Internet Signal VDSL
- DHCP enabled
- Lan Port 1 attached to the first IPTV Device
- Lan Port 2 attached to the WAN Port of the WRP400
WRP400-G2:
- WAN Port is attached to Lan Port 2 of the motorola router
- DHCP enabled
- DNS Proxy enabled
- UPnP disabled
- IGMP v3
- IGMP Proxy enabled
- IGMP immediate leave enabled
- second IPTV device attached on LAN Port 1
This way the multicast stream works perfect, the WLAN works also. Have to say this: WRP400 rocks!
