how to display notifications above typing line

I recall there being a way to push the notification messages above the line that you are typing in. I can't find it on google. 

Notifications messages such as an interface changing status...

Checked google, and cannot find anything. Anyone?

I think what you are looking for is 'logging synchronous'...

Which is configured under the lines by the way, e.g.:

line vty 0 4

logging synchronous
