How to fast switched the multicast packets

We have one 6509 switch with sup 720 and that is having high cpu due to ip input process. we figure out the multicast packets are getting software switched. the IOS we are running is 12.2(18)SXF14. is there any way we can reduce the CPU utilization.

Does mls rate-limit multicast command reduces the quality of the multicast stream ??

Check if the multicast packets have a TTL of 1. try changing the TTL value to a bigger number in the mutlicast application.
