When Im at home on my dsl, I want to create a tunnel to a another place. do I still need to route the lan connection of the other end, or do I define this in an acces list and it will automatically use the tunnel ?

Could you please give us more details on this question?
what do you mean by automatically use the tunnel?
are you talking about policy routing to force traffic to the tunnel interface?
take a look at this link, might give you some examples:

hi there, yes I would like to know how to get that certain traffic for that network to go via the tunnel ?

You need to do use split tunneling if you want Internet traffic to go over Internet and Corporate traffic to go over VPN tunnel.
You will have to use the policy based routing on the destination where you are creating the tunnel
Rate if it helps
