Hi Team,

I have a cisco switch 4507+R switch that is in production that is using a WS-X4648-RJ45V+E blades. I need to replaced one of the blades with the following blade WS-X4748-UPOE+E and my question is once i replace the blade will the new blade get configuration below which i have right now or do i have to configure the blade again.

switchport access vlan 9
switchport mode access
ip device tracking maximum 0
auto qos trust
spanning-tree bpduguard enable
spanning-tree guard root
service-policy input AutoQos-4.0-Input-Policy
service-policy output AutoQos-4.0-Output-Policy

Thank you team.

Hi,

As long as you put the new blade in the same slot as the old blade and since the old blade and the new blade are both 48 port copper, than the config should be applied to the new blade.

HTH

Once I replace the Blade do i need to reboot my switch .

No.

Thank you Joseph

and this is what i have on my switch will the new blade will work.

Make sure the supervisor card is running the correct IOS version.  For the WS-X4748-UPOE, the Sup7 must be running at least 3.4.X.

What is the command to see what Sup Version I'm running if you can please help

show version to see what software is running.

show module to see that sup(s) installed.

Hi Joseph

This is my IOS version that i'm running on my cisco switch 4507+R

cat4500e-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 03.05.03.E
Sup 7L-E 10GE (SFP+), 1000BaseX (SFP) WS-X45-SUP7L-E

cat4500e-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 03.05.03.E
Sup 7L-E 10GE (SFP+), 1000BaseX (SFP) WS-X45-SUP7L-E

Ok, so you've got Sup7LE and running 3.5.3E.  So the line card is compatible.  Next trick question:  Power supply.

I don't remember the command but post the completely output to the command "sh env all".

Especially as you're replacement is a different model blade, I would insure you have a current copy of your config before you make the swap - just in case.
