Hello!
I've got a remote Cisco 3725+NM-16ESW with dead CF in flash:. I've send CF with IOS and local IT-man had inserted it into slot0:.
Now I try to save vlan.dat file to slot0: location, but I've got following error:
router(config)#vtp file slot0:vlan.dat
% not enough space on flash to store vlan database. trying squeeze...
% error squeezing flash - (No device available)
Operation failed; File system error --
No device available
Of course, there is enough space on CF in slot0: and it is type-3 formated. And that command works fine if CF in flash: is alive.
I suppose, that router tries to read or write CF in flash: before write file into CF in slot0:.
So, there is no way to remove faulty CF from flash:, how can I implement vlans?
Thanks :-)

Hi,
There are some field notices regarding the issue that you are facing.

It's a pity, but it's not exactly that issue (I'm talking about inability to save vlan.dat to working flash while there is faulty flash inserted).

Hi,
try the 'show slot0: filesys' and 'show slot0:' to check the card.
Also here is a link that tell how to remove the faulty internal CF.
let me know if this helps!
