how to use a vlan switch for a new poe switch to connect more devices

we have Vlan connection now I want to add a new poe switch to add new devices how can I add that devices with a new switch

 that Vlan connection is by other network management team. what to do for a new switch to add more devices??

Hello,

basically you need to connect both switches via trunk port. If you use VTP, add the new switch as VTP client, so it gets all VLAN information from the VTP server...or create the VLANs you need manually on the new switch.

What are the switch types/models (e.g. 2950, 3850) ?

Do you want this additional switch to use multiple vlans of just one specifc vlan, if the later then you can just connect the switch to a acess port in the vlan you want that switch to run in also if you require remote access give the switch an ip address in the same vlan of the access port it connected to.

However if you want to use mulriple vlans then the interconnection between the new switch and exiting switch will need to be  trunk port.
