Hi, does anyone know how to view VTP password after configured for Catalyst 9K series? The password can be seen via the output of "show vtp status or show vtp password".

Helo @jaiwaei36

You can use the "shw vtp password" command in privileged mode to view the password in cleartext if you're using VTPv1 or VTPv2. However, with VTPv3, the password is encrypted and can't be seen in cleartext.

Regardless of the version, you can always change the VTP password through global configuration.

Hello jaiwaei36,

Check the vtp version running on the switch using  show vtp status,  if the switch is running with vtp version 1  or 2 shows the password in clear text with show vtp password command. However, switch is configured with vtp version 3, when you give show vtp password, it doesn't show the password, insted it show's the message VTP Password is configured.

Best regards
