HSRP/VRRP msec timer?

hi~

I know hsrp/vrrp timer is set in msec.

ex)

vrrp config : vrrp 1 timer advertise msec 250

hsrp config : standby 1 timer msec 250 msec 750

it is possible to achieve quick failure detection and convergence.

What about the minimum/maximum  vrrp/hsrp timer value?

and Can 3750 and 4900M switch supprot this option?

Hi Min,

This config will give you sub-second failure detection and convergence.  The 3750 and 4900M should support this.  However keep in mind this config will send 4 HSRP hellos a second per interface its configured on.  So the more interfaces its configured (L3 interfaces that is) the higher the CPU will be.
