In Cat6500, FWSM, ACE, ASA, Router, Switches what would be an ideal log buffer size assuming enough disk space is available.

I normally set mine to "logging buffered 1024000 debugging". It is more than adequated in most situations.

Isn't it an overkill to keep the level at debugging at all times.

No not really, but it depends on he device you have and you resources available to you.
I have very busy 6500 switches with the following :-
logging buffered 250000 debugging

With 250KB on busy switches, how many hours old log messages can you find ?
