Fore those that use an external grandmaster (GNSS/GPS fed PTP Grandmaster Appliance)
Which settings for PTP interval timers do you set for "DEFAULT" profile?
(The absence of a profile PTP allows you to arbitrarily set these values)
I ask because I have an environment where, I think I've tried every possible permutation of timing settings, but despite my switch seeing the PTP Grandmaster in "show ptp parent", my Interface connected to my PTP grandmaster stays in state "UNCALIBRATED" (in show ptp port).
Finally, "show clock details" says "no time source", so PTP is half-working.
Can someone with a working environment please share which settings you have for:
- Announce Interval
- Announce Timeout
- PDelay Request Interval
- SYNC Interval
I know Cisco isn't going to endorse/certify any OEM GNSS/PTP Time appliance vendor as a 100% compatible PTP GM, but it would be nice if they could share what device settings they use in their DEV and QA environments against the code.
