IE-3000-Transceiver Issue

Hi All,

I'm receiving this error message when trying to connect a cisco IE-3000-4TC switch IOS 15.2(3)EA to a cisco WS-C3850-48T-E stack switch ver 16.3.3 using GBIC's GLC-BX40-UI. I'm using SMF LC-to-LC.

I've tried to manipulate the fibre but the value's still stay the same.

%PHY-5-TRANSCEIVERINSERTED: Slot=1 Port=1: Transceiver has been inserted
.May 22 10:14:09: %SFF8472-5-THRESHOLD_VIOLATION: Gi1/1: Rx power low alarm; Operating value: -40.0 dBm, Threshold value: -28.8 dBm.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hello,

these are special types of SFP that work on a single fiber, however two different types of SFP are needed to build a working link

What type of SFP is on the other side?

You need the companion SFP that transmits on 1550 nm and receives on 1310 nm wavelenghths

Hope to help

Giuseppe

The 1000BASE-BX-D and 1000BASE-BX-U SFPs, compatible with the IEEE 802.3ah 1000BASE-BX10-D and 1000BASE-BX10-U standards, operate on a single strand of standard SMF.
