IE 3300 Won't Reset with Express Setup Button

I have a brand new IE 3300, powered up by a 24 V DC power source.

Upon power-up, the IE 3300 registers SOLID GREEN in it's DC Input A Status LED, and the Operational Status LED starts FLASHING GREEN. The IE 3300 stays in this status infinitely. It will not complete the boot sequence.

When I press the Express Setup Button, the Express Setup LED goes SOLID GREEN (indicating that I am pressing the button), but no matter how long I hold the button the IE 3300 will not go into Reset mode. I have held the button for 15 seconds, 20 seconds, 30 seconds, 60 seconds etc. The IE3300 will not reset.

Has anyone seen this? I have followed Reset procedures in the manual to no avail. Can anyone advise?

Hello @MWACH

It sounds like your IE 3300 switch is stuck in an incomplete boot sequence, which could be caused by a firmware issue, hardware fault, or configuration corruption.

Below are some of the suggestion to resolve the issue:

  1. Verify Power Supply
  2. Check the Operational Status LED
  3. Attempt Factory Reset
  4. Connect to the Console Port
  5. Recover Firmware (if necessary)

Additional Notes:

  1. Ensure you are following the exact reset procedure as outlined in the IE 3300 manual.
  2. If the switch is brand new and has never booted successfully, it may be defective, and you should consider requesting a replacement from your vendor or Cisco.

Hope This Helps!!!

Thank you, AshSe. I have tried most of the procedures exactly as laid out in the manual, short of doing a firmware recovery. It is a brand new switch, straight out of the box, so I will look at having it repaired or replaced by the original vendor.

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it.
