I have 1 Cisco 2950 (switch A)linked to an HP switch (switch B) which is itself cascaded to a Cisco 2950 (switch C). I have added ip addresses on the 2 cisco switches in VLAN1. Now, switch A can't find B. The linked in on interface F0/1 on A and on port 4 on the HP switch. If I unplug interface F0/1 on A and plug it again, I receive the following error:
inconsistent port type.
Interace F0/1 is blocked on A.
What might be the issue?
Everything was working fine before I change the IP addresses.
Please help.

M,
Please paste a network diagram and config for both the cisco switches.
Also check the output for " show spanning-tree interface fa0/1" on switch A.

Amit,
Show spanning-tree on that interface shows that fa0/1 is blocked. Attached is the layout.
On the config, thers is nothing fancy. Basic cisco config. The only thing I did was adding an IP address and SNMP stuffs. No VLAN created. I am using the default VLAN1.
Thanks for your help
