IP Address not pinging from other Vlans, after an abrupt reboot

Dear Team,

  1. we have a cisco L2 2960 catalyst switch installed in a rack.
  2. this cisco switch is connected with a cisco nexus switch which is connected to our local LAN
  3. the 2960 switch is within 137 VLAN; although inter-VLAN routing is enabled through-out the network
  4. that is, in ideal condition, my laptop(having different vlan) can ping 10.0.137.X IP and other vlan IPs
  5. Now, the cisco 2960 had multiple abrupt reboot due to power outages
  6. after reboot, all the IP address of the servers connected in that 42U rack is pinging, apart from one particular IP
  7. That particular IP(10.0.137.79) is pinging from within that rack servers and all other servers which are in 137 vlan only, but not from any other vlan
  8. I rebooted the 2960 switch again and the issue was resolved

Question: what could be reason for this behavior?

What device is doing the inter-VLAN routing ? Is there anthing in the logs of that device ?

Dear gpauwen,

Thanks a lot for the response. It is the Cisco Nexus Series switches that are doing the inter-vlan routing. We do not have any logs possibly.

I am not able to understand point-7 in my list of query particularly.

Hello,

what does the trunk between the 2960 and the NEXUS switch look like ? Can you post the configs of the 2960 and the Nexus ?
