Hi all
when I put a site local ipv6 address on a router, will there also be a link local address automatically created prior to this? bascially when I enable th eipv6 unicast routing command?

Not when you enable IPv6 routing. It assigns link local address automatically after you put the ipv6 on the interface with EUI
ipv6 address FEC0:1:2::/64 eui-64

When you enable an IPv6 on router then by defaul the Link Local address is addign to router interface & That address actually use you MAC address to make an unique address , The process is know an EUI-64& it start with "FE80::0"
