issue with 6509 sup 720 please help

Hi all

Im running a 6509 vss pair, I noticed some logs on the system yesterday,looks liek there is an issue with the other supervisor in the chassis! see below

should I re seat the module, or power it off and on??

if I do this it shouldnt impact the system right ?

From this output I can not find the module which u r using:

if u r using this;WS-X6748-SFP or WS-X6748-GE-TX  these module

Note: This module is supported only on the  Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series Supervisor Engine 720 running.

Slot 5 is the supervisor module, Supervisor Engine 720 10GE (Active)    VS-S720-10G

what should I do here?

Hi Carl,

This module is supported only on the Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series Supervisor Engine 720 running Cisco Catalyst OS Version 8.1.2 or Cisco IOS® Software Release 12.2(17a)SX (available in the next few months) and future software releases.

Just try to reset the module and then try again.

Hi there

I have removed the supervisor and plugged it back in.

however is still says unknown when I do a show module.

could this be a faulty card? is there any tests I can run?

If your current active supervisor card is running SXI4a, what IOS is the other supervisor running (the one in slot 5)?

The IOS should be the same or the supervisor card in slot 5 will go into ROMmon.
