Issue with Multicast between VLANs

we're having issue with sending multicast traffic between VLANs on the same core switch

So for example on our switch we have VLANs 100 and 101

We can send multicast traffic from VLAN 100 to VLAN 101. However, a source from VLAN 101 cannot send multicast traffic to VLAN 100.

All the VLANs, source and receivers are on the same switch and we can ping between the sources and receivers.

Any ideas?

Some things to check

1) What is the TTL set to on your multicast traffic.

2) Do you have multicast routing enabled on the switch.

3) What multicast routing protocol are you using - PIM Dense mode, PIM Sparse mode ?

4) What are you using to send and receive the multicast traffic.

5) What does a "sh ip mroute" show.
