Hi
why Cisco make 3560x switches with Lan Base(no routing functions)?
because some prople don't need layer-3 functionalities. They want to use the switch as a layer-2 device only
If you purchase a 3560X with Lan Base software, and you decided later that you need all layer-3 functionalist, you need to purchase a layer-3 license and install it on your device. It is called IP Services licence.
