Lan Latency between C3650 and C2960-x

I have Core Switch C3650 and C2960-x, when i try to ping from C3650 to C2960-X using extended ping with 1000 ping i am getting min/avg/max values 1/5/40 ms and from C2960-X to C3650 using extended ping with 1000 ping i am getting min/avg/max values 1/5/30 ms, and my customer is saying max value should not exceed 5 ms and network is working absolutely fine .could some one tell me how to get this.

What you are probably seeing is the switch prioritizing other functions as opposed to responding to pings. So it is not LAN latency but more processing response time. Below is a link to a previous forum discussion along the same lines.
