No there are no ip addresses in a L2 switch on the interfaces, unless you count the ip-address to the switch itself.

The switch own ip is used to handle different management things such as ssh/telnet/snmp/logging and so on.

Good luck

I would need to log into the remote layer 2 switches to a port 4000 but to which ip address, because I do not know what ip address the interfaces that I get from the isp

if you are getting a DHCP address from the ISP then thats where you get it from.

There is no real way for you to know that address is "out of the box".

However ofcourse you can do some workarounds depending on what switch you put there.

But this is a real mess to put oneself in.

This is not something that is a good design for many reasons.

Good luck

I have the layer 2 switches put on sale I hope someone

Hi,

On a L2 switch you can assign an IP address only to the management VLAN. You can also assign switchports to VLANs.

Best regards,
Giorgos

This is not the intention of the intention to secure remote lied on the switches because it is directly connected to the ISP
