Hi,

I am trying to setup a home lab. 2x2811 Refurb routers and a few catalyst 2960 switches. I was able to sucessfully get an address from the dhcp address pool from the ISP modem.

In the begining I was able to connect the two routers, but now I can't get them to connect. I have checked the duplex/speed setting in the ports (f0/0, f0/1) and also the cables .. but still not working. I just cant figure out what the issue could be ( I haven't had too much hands on experience with routers/switches before, so I having a brain freeze moment.)

I am new to this forum, not sure if im posting in the right thread.. any advice would be appreciated.

Many Thanks in advance

Sandesh

Hi

In order to interconnect 2 routers you need a crossover cable.

Now if you are connecting the routers using the switch you can use a straight cable, and enable the interfaces using the no shutdown command under the interfaces.
