Linksys Gigabit Switch won't work with new RVS4000

This puzzle has me totally stymied.  I replaced Router A with a RVS4000 but my Linksys Gigabit 8-port switch in Rm C doesn't connect.  It gets very weird because a 5 port Netgear switch from Rm B works fine in Rm C.  Also, when I hook the Linksys switch up in Rm B in place of the NG, it works fine there.  If I hook the LS directly to the RVS4000, it works fine in that location.  And lastly, if I put everything back, that is the LS goes back to Rm C and I take out the RVS4000 and replace is with old Router A, the LS works just fine.  Does anyone have a clue as to why this might be happening?

Many thanks.

You are a true champ with abbreviations.

This makes your post not easy to read and understand, which is probably why you received so little response.

Still, I want to give it a try: I think it is a cabling issue.

Perhaps you will find this difficult to believe but I have seen weird things with cabling. I remember a case with a set Belkin cables which were supposed to be cat6. It turned out that they were not all up to the specification. Behavior was in fact similar to your problem description where one device works on a certain cable and another doesn't. So, my advice is as follows:

Sit back, think through your setup and work out a testing scheme which eliminates cabling from the equation.

Leo
