We wish to connect two Catalyst 2960X-48FPS-L switches about 200 feet apart with fiber. We are trying to replicate what we already have for the connection between another pair of switches elsewhere on the premises.
We propose to use duplex multimode fiber, 50/125 micron, 850 nm wavelength, with LC connectors. It appears that we should order GLC-SX-MMD SFP transceivers. (I would just look at what we have, but if I unplug one, half the building loses connectivity, so that's a non-starter.)
Do I have the right one?
Thankx in advance

Hello champted13,
According to Cisco Gigabit Ethernet Transceiver Modules Compatibility Matrix the GLC-SX-MMD transceiver is compatible with the 2960X-48FPS-L switch and of course it is able to satisfy your 200 feet connection requirement.

Have a nice day, regards.
