I am receiving this error after connecting a copper adapter on a GBIC blade in a 6509. Here are the results from the show Interface. I am waiting to confirm the device on the other side settings but as far as I see I get UP and Up for protocol and line respectively.
GigabitEthernet2/11 is up, line protocol is up (connected)

Can you paste the exact error message you are seeing in the log
Is the connectivity fine on this link?
Thank you

Yes it is up for Protocol and up for line. However the following command displays no MAC address
sh mac add int g2/11
Codes: * - primary entry
vlan mac address type learn qos ports
------+----------------+--------+-----+---+--------------------------
No entries present.

Hi Mike
What is the config on the interfaces at both sides?
You can configure IP address on both sides and try to ping inorder to verify the connectivity
Thank you
Raju
