Memory Problems on 6500 Sup 2T

We have 2 X 6509 with Sup 2T

We have upgrade the IOS to the latest version s2t54-adventerprisek9-mz.SPA.155-1.SY7.bin

 

We have one line card WS-X6724-SFP  on each of the 6509 with 256 MB

 

The bad card has 16 MB free with one device on it

The good card has 90 MB of RAM Free with lots of devices connected to it.

Any ideas on how to free up the memory on the bad card.

Tried replacing the card.

Tried restarting the entire unit

Cisco TAC wants to upgrade the card to 512MB RAM

if they are the ones who suggested this, then you should follow the TAC suggestions, since Cisco is the manufacturer and TAC is trained for the issues around their products.

Maybe try new network modules refurbished on you get cheaper, as most of the network equipment moving to Cat 9K plenty stock available in the market.
