Which is the minimum distance of the MiniGBIC SFP MGBLX1 without be damaged? Can I use it for 5 meters or not?

Average output power |
MGBLX1: -9.5 dBm to -3 dBm |
Receiver sensitivity |
MGBLX1: -20 dBm (typ) |
Receiver overload |
MGBLX1: -3 dBm |
don't think you will really damage the sfp, but you can add an attenuator to reduce the received light signal

Thanks for your immediate reply!
Do you mean that i don't damage the sfp because the maximum average output is -3dbm and is the same as the receiver overload (-3dbm)???

yes, there is little chance of physical damage.
but packets can be lost (improperly received) if signal is at the and of the lower/higher ranges of the specs.
in worst case sensitivity may reduce over time if continuously overloaded.
you may consider using a copper-SFP over such a short distance?
