Monitor the switch port on a cisco 7942

In our network we sometimes see that pc:s connected via 7942 phones dont get network connectivity. The problem solves by restarting the phone. In order to troubleshoot I wonder if it is possible to monitor the switch port on a cisco 7942.

What do you have in mind regards the monitoring?

You can SPAN an interface and attached a analyser like wireshark on a specific destination port

to capture traffic.

monitor session 1 source interface x/x ( port being monitored)
monitor session 1 destination interface x/x ( analyser port)
