Hi
I would like to know how MST and PVST can interact with each other ? does mst assume pvst as a CST or not ?
Thanks.

Hi,
I'm going to let somebody else confirm this, but I think that MST uses RSTP.
Anything not on the MST itself, will be seeing as another CST, so I assume that PVST will be seen as another CST.

Hi,
MST is backward compatible with PVST+, Rapid-PVST+, and Prestandard MST (MISTP). MST switch is connected to the other STP (PVST+ and Rapid-PVST+) switches by the Common Spanning Tree (CST). Other STP (PVST+ and Rapid-PVST+) switches see the entire MST region as a single switch. When you connect the prestandard MST switch with the standard MST switch, you need to configure spanning-tree mst pre-standard in the interface of the standard MST switch.
Hope to Help !!
