Multicast, PIM, VMWare, MS NLB and “disable-snooping”

Ive got a 2003 MS NLB and VLC wont multicast VLC from he MS NLB, but it will from eve other machine.  I found an article basically saying you MUST put static mac address table commands with “disable snooping” at the end.

My question is if the NLB in question is in a VM environment, and the VM’s have port-channels running to them, can you use port channels in the static mac address table command? Or do you have to use the physical interfaces?

mac-address-table static 0100.5e7f.0ccd vlan 1 interface Port-channel60 disable-snooping

or this….

mac-address-table static 0100.5e7f.0ccd vlan 1 interface g1/1/1 disable-snooping

mac-address-table static 0100.5e7f.0ccd vlan 1 interface g1/1/2 disable-snooping

mac-address-table static 0100.5e7f.0ccd vlan 1 interface g1/1/3 disable-snooping

mac-address-table static 0100.5e7f.0ccd vlan 1 interface g1/1/4 disable-snooping

Cisco recommend configuring it on the L2 etherchannel and not the physical interfaces. See the "Usage Guidelines" -> "Catalyst Switches" section of this doc -

Thanks Jon, well based on that reading I think we are configured correctly on the network side.

I do have one question and this may be Microsoft question but the NLB has the checkbox for use IGMP, and if you check or uncheck it the mac changes.  If the c6500 is "disable-snooping" wouldn't it stand to reason that use IGMP should be unchecked?
