I'm using a RV042 router, connected are 2 ADSL connections in Wan1 a normal ADSL modem and in Wan2 a Wifi modem.

In my status window it reads WAN1 and WAN 2 connected but my IP address DNS and default gateway is 0.0.0.0 will this work? is it normal?

See attached file thank you..

Hi,

WAN2 is not getting its ip configuration so it is connected because your layer 1 and layer 2 are ok but as you've got no IP then layer 3 is non operational and this link will not be used.

sir what do you think is wrong with my connection? my wifi modem is set as ip 192.168.1.1 and i set wan2 as "obtain ip automatically" thats the only option i used so far. can you help me configure it?

Hi,

do both modems have the same  IP subnet on their LAN side? if so then the router should not accept the lease because it can't have 2 interfaces in the same subnet.

sir i cannot access the ADSL modem.. the only modem i can access is the wifi modem.. if i were to change the subnet of the wifi router whats the correct subnet that it will accept? given the current subnet of 255.255.255.255?

Hi,

it can't be a /32 because this is a host address not a subnet address but what are the logs on the wifi modem telling about dhcp ? what model is this modem ?
